Ok guys, thanks for the replies... I'll start running through the different options.

On the bad RAM posibility, what vista, or vista compatible utility can I use to check it?

I'll try the other options in the meantime.

Edit: Ok, this is weird, Alt-tabing out and then back into the program fixes the problem for a few seconds or minutes, but not always. Curioser and curioser.
