If you are reeeealy geeky and have plenty of RAM and can great a 1GB RAM drive (and still leave your system with 2GB RAM for playing) you can use a program like Junction to create symbolic links (NTFS junctions) to the RAM drive. Then copy the campaign files to that location on your RAM drive. When your campaign loads, its limited by the speed of your CPU and RAM. Goes from loading times measured in minutes to times measured in seconds....

I've used this techniques in various games. Use a utility like Filemon to find out which files take the longest to load, and simply put those files on the RAM drive, create the link, and watch it go.
