I feel left out. My scammers never promise me that much cash. I advertised my old apartment to lease out a couple of months back. Got an email response back from a guy in the States who wanted to rent it for his daughter who was going to go to college for a year in Ireland. Had a good American name like Chuck or something but had a bit of a grammar problem when it came to the English language.
The upshot was that he was going to lodge a full years rent with a travel agent who would then pay it to me on a monthly basis. The first months rent plus a security deposit came to 3000 Euros. He proposed sending me a cheque for 5000 euro and in return I would send him a cheque for 2000 in change.
I was sorely tempted to reply
I kinda felt he never really thought that scam through :hmm:
