Don't downgrade!  I know you're pulling my chain though.
Worst case - do a repair install.
It could be that you have a virus by the way, so that is the first thing you should check.

TBH, I was really thinking about Vista for a sec... ok, a millisec, but still.
I formatted the whole Windows clean off and reinstalled it. Hoping it works now.
