Nah, Company of Heroes is for kids.:p Its real time strategy, but the main differences is LOS (line of sight), realistic ballistic data (angle, speed, range and ammo type vs type of armour, etc, etc), larger maps with more scope and psychology.
In other words your tank can be fired upon, and the crew can flee without the tank taking serious damage, or they can be killed inside the tank by a penetrating round, etc, etc. Tanks are usually knocked out without drama, but on some rare occasions explode. Also, AT gun crews run for cover if fired upon, but return to the gun when all is clear. This game is awesome! (If you have the patience to learn how to play, some are scared away by the way this has to be played, and I get that)
For instance, forget storming a fortified position like in other more arcade rts. You WILL be blown away!
Also, all your troops gain experience throughout the campaigns, and you can manually distribute skills and medals.
I will upload an unedited video from an entire battle between Allied and German forces in the Bulge soon. (Stage6 lets you do this, since there is no time limit like f.i YouTube)
You might say Company of Heroes is medal of Honour: Airborne, and Theatre of War is Red Orchestra.
