Just for the record though, there was Lance-Corporal Johnson Beharry's (UK Army, PWRR) VC in 2005 (for service in Iraq), and Corp. Bill Apiata's VC in 2007 (New Zealand, SAS) for service in Afghanistan. Both lived to receive their's in person.
P.S. and I forgot Corp. Bryan Budd (UK, 3 PARA), also for service in Afghanistan, who, unfortunately received his posthumanously.
