Yes it is. After I put in the periscope slideouts mod I started getting crashes as well. I found my problem was in the numbering of the many files in the menu.ini. It took four tries and about as many hours to finally get the game to load, and now I'm trying to track down why I have two large slideout compasses instead of one, and why I have the TDC tools slide out but none of them work.
Matttm, all I can suggest is keep going over it until it works; or else dump the whole thing and re-install. I may be doing that soon, but then I'm busy testing things and don't have a career going right now, so it won't cost me anything but time.
