The British Admiralty, on 2 November 1914, declared the entire North Sea as a war zone. This was against international maritime law. The British also cried foul when Germany retorted by declaring all of the waters around Great Britian a war zone. The butchering of civilians in the low lands by the Germans wasn't fair either. I would be allied just for that reason.
