hehe, when me and her went to tescos for a bit of shopping for me to cook tomorrow night, there was a line of about 50 blokes all with the same look on their faces, all carrying bunches of flowers, waiting for the tills. :rotfl:

I make the exception for a single red rose on valentines day, rather than a mahoosive bunch that will die very soon.

Given the choice I think most men would do without most celebrations (in the traditional sense) and prefer to enjoy good food and drink at christmas and the new year. On the whole we don't seem to suffer from that affliction that so besets woman kind; the need to have vast amounts of money spent on useless things for them by their partner, to demonstrate their affection at certain key times if the year.
It must be some kind of recessive gene, left over from when the need to court a mate involved bringing said potential mate the largest damn meaty carcass on the savannah to show how much of an 'alpha male' you were. :hmm:

And so the planets revolve about the sun and the seasons roll on with the passive inevitability of the natural order of things; meanwhile mankind thinks digital watches and velcro are indelible signs of his progress and ascension, all the time believing he is so much more than the beasts of the field.
