Based at Midway I've been given my assignment to patrol the Skagerrak straight which lies between Norway and Sweden.
Now how on earth am I supposed to get there - it is more than 6,000 odd nautical miles away. A return trip would be in the region of 14,000 to 15,000. This is like twice the distance to Japan!!
