I'm a great fan of "what if" scenerios so for me they can do what they like as long as the actual u-boat and combat is realistic. Unrealistic force numbers and logistics is a sacrifice for fun. I certainly enjoyed the fact that Japan had 500 battleships in SHIV because it meant I got to sink them.
