I had something similar happen to me during an attack on a convoy.

The Merchie I was targeting took a zig zag as my fish approached. Was not called a miss at the time and I was somewhat baffled, but I had DDs coming to play so I started my evasions.

About 3 or 4 minutes into the evasion run I get the report "Impact!" "She's going down sir!"

I whip outside and apparently all the other merchies were zigging and zagging and one of the further ones zigged into the path of my otherwise wasted fish.

I also had an incident where a DD pulled into the path of a fish that was headed for a BB. And took the damage and sunk.
