The guys in this forum have modded SH4 drastically. The changes you would like to make are included in a few mods. Some awesome mods include Trigger Maru(TM- realistic yet not as much as RFB), Real Fleet Boat(RFB, most realistic),Natural Sinking Mechanics 3.3 (NSM, ships sink based on flooding not hit points) and big time graphics update/enhancemment Reflections on the Water (ROW) created by Dave "Leovampire" Bunnell(RIP 01/08/08).
