The Sturmtiger was armed with a short-barreled 38cm Raketenwerfer 61 L/5.4, breech-loading rocket launcher/mortar.

Such a short barrell, just how far would the ammo go?

The coolest tank in the world to me is:

http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/leo2.htm
The RW 61 launcher fired short-range (4,600 to 6,000 meters, or 2,850 to 3,720 yards) high-explosive rocket-propelled projectiles.

OT of Leopard.........Each year on Salisbury Plain (not sure if it still occurs) There are or were gunnery competitions for tanks from most of the NATO countries. These competitions were designed for tank crews to prove their ability in a variety of disciplines ie: moving, stationary, uphill obstacle/downhill obstacle, moving targets, stationary targets, and all at a variety of different ranges etc. etc.
The Leopard, since it's inception, has won the competition more than any other make of tank.
