You are correct, I'm not going to say that SH4 sucks and SH3 rocks, wouldn't dream of it!
In all seriousness I play both & SH3 is better, the very fact that I keep coming back is proof!
These are probably the main factors:
No interaction with the crew.
Still far too many bugs.
I prefer the Atlantic theater, though many prefer the Pacific, that part though is purely preference!
