Speaking personally I have problems playing GTA (grand theft auto) due to the truly violent nature of that game....

As for your first point, if your statement about the Psych eval conclusions is correct, we are in for a H&ll of a future when adulthood comes to more and more of the 99% of kids who thrive on First Person Shooters, and have done so for the past half-generation. There
are examples of real life mass-killers (Columbine HS, Colorado, for example) who were obsessed with violent FPS Games...but I don't think one can extrapolate from that to a general conclusion about all or most people becoming prone to a predictable mindset or emotional/moral condition.
