When you see this error, first you must check the title of that patch installer. There are a lot of patches, 1.2>1.4 1.3>1.4 or 1.0>1.4 maybe you download wrong... If you have good patch and it still doesn't work you should download other version of that patch because there are always two version of each patch. There is US patch and EMEA. That should works.
