E6400 dualcore, 2 gigs Crucial, 7600GT and XP Pro..
Takes me about 30 seconds to get into the game, and about 2 minutes to load the savegame. A key thing is the number of processes running in task manager.. i keep my machine running smooth, with only about 33 processes in the background at any time.
