No interior damage sounds has been around since the game was released and the devs never fixed it. Luckily, Vickers03 made a mod that fixes this in the S-class subs at least. So if you like pig boats, you'll be all set until maybe he works his magic on the other subs.
Do a search in the mods section for vickers03 or look in the 1.4 mod list.
