All photos that I've seen from VP111 AC show different number designations however. Is there a way to locate old warbirds as to their past operations and squadrons by useing the designation number on the AC?

Anyway, not to get too far off coarse, it would be nice to see them modded in the game, performing the task they were designated: Maritime patrolling, and bombing. Read several accounts of these AC bombing Japanese convoys.
Info for you on the tailcode Z56 ( 756? ). I must tell you that the Z may not be a Z but a 7, as researching pictures shows the PB4Y's using a 3 digit numerical number on the nose and not a 1 digit alpha character and 2 digit numerical setup. Confused yet?

Here is the VP(B)-21 & VP(B)-111 veterans association website supposedly.

More info you might find of interest in your search.

That number in you picture is part of the aircraft serial number. BURO No. 59756

US Fighters and Bombers used part of the aircrafts s/n as part of its tailcode.

Look at the A/C s/n's and look at the tailcodes ( in this case nose codes....lol ).
