The position keeper is only going to be as accurate as the information fed into the TDC. It's not an automatic firing solution finder...it's just a tracking device. It will generate an estimate of current target position based on previously input measurements. If your range, speed or AOB inputs are off, then it will give you an erroneous current target position.

Generally the way I generate a firing solution is this way:

1. Start with the PK turned off.
2. Use the stadimeter or active sonar ping to determine a range to the target.
3. Get a speed on the target
4. Estimate AOB using your preferred method (there's lots of ways out there)
5. Turn on the PK.
6. Wait.
7. As the target comes closer, fine tune the speed, range or AOB measurements as needed. The PK will auto update based on these new inputs.
8. When I'm confident I have a fairly accurate solution, I send some torpedoes his way and hope for the best!

Hope this helps!
