How do you complete the downed aviator missions? I go to the icon, and see three smoke clouds. I approach each cloud and designate the aviator with the binoculars. I press the appropriate button and get a message saying that I have picked up survivors. I do this for each of the three smoke clouds. The clouds vanish after I pick up the pilot. But I never get credit for completing this mission.
Am I supposed to wait for a period of time in the vicinity? I waited for a week, just sitting on the icon until I got destroyed by repeated enemy air attacks while I was just waiting on the surface. Is there more downed pilots? Is there another air strike scheduled for later that I need to wait for? I cruised around the island and looked all over with the external cam and I don't see any more smoke clouds. What needs to be done to complete this mission? The mission briefings are usually pretty detailed, but I can't this one to complete. |
