I have not looked into this myself, I will try it later though. and now for my 2 cents on it, Now I have never served on a sub hell I wasn't even in the Navy, I was a Marine. Aside from this game, as close as I have ever been to serving on A sub was touring the USS Batfish, with all that in mind LOL I submit that I could in theory plot a course turn the wheel, go back turn on the engines, and periodicaly check on them and continue to steer the ship, now in rough seas or combat no I don't think it would be possible but I think for the short term, and in good conditions according to what I have read and what little I have learned that it could logically be possible.
