Default My first GWX 2 patrol

September 3, 1939, U-49, 2d flotila.

I was assigned to patrol grid AM23 on my first GWX 2 patrol. On my way to my assigned grid I didn't encountered many ships, only 2 small merchants and 1 passenger-cargo. Needless to say I sank 'em all

After 24 hrs patorl on grid AM23, I headed south to the direction of the convoy lane. On Sept 12, 1939 On grid ... man, i forgot what grid it was, but it was north northwest of Ireland I got a convoy contact report. Convoy was heading SSE, right to my location.

I set up an intercepting course ... BTW, since theres no "tail" on the ship or convoy mark in GWX2, it's harder to determine the actual course of the convoy, but I like it

Anyway, after several misses I was able to position myself near the convoy and prepared for an attack. To make a long story short, in the convoy ... there were many new ships there, in fact the convoy consist of new ships ... ships I didn't see in GWX 1.03 ..love it too , anyway, in the convoy there's a warship, a Revenge class .. a 30,000 tonne ship. I only had 4 bow torpedoes left ... one small merchant I attacked on my way to the patrol grid required 3 torps before it went down
Anyway, I decided not to take any chance and decided to sent all my torps to the Revenge class.

I fired all 4 torpedoes, and qucikly dive to 125 m after the last topr left the tube. I got a report of 3 hits and 1 missed. I turned north and sneak away from the convoy. Later, I got a "She's going down" report

After I cleared the convoy, I surfaced and headed back to my base Wilhelmshaven. Got there several days later, with only 3 ships and 1 warshp sunk, a total of 37,000 tonnes or so, and I got promoted to Oberleutnant S.Z

Playing GWX 1.03 I never lasted more than 6 patrols, I play 90% realism and DiD, I don't know how many patrols I will last now with GWX 2.
