U-55, the double nickel boat, out of St. Nazaire spotted a Granville type freighter off the SouthWest coast of Ireland, she was of British registry, we attacked her on the surface with our deck gun. We ravaged her waterline, then worked her superstructure over, she went down in magnificent fashion with huge explosions on deck, 4706 GRT. that won`t reach England.
