secondly, how do crew gain experience ?

is it by being in their designated posts for as long as possible - ? im not quite sure. i wanted to promote my hydro guy but he did not have enough experience.
seemed odd, coz, he had done a good job and i wanted to thank him for all his hard work !!

so, how doea this work...?
