Whoppee! The US government gets its head of its *ss and signs a new fuel mileage bill:

Ok, so by 2020 US autos have to have a mandatory mpg of 35. Big deal. By then, the Japanese, who already MAKE cars with this kind of fuel economy will RULE the US car market.
Secondly, hybrid cars will far surpass 35mpg within the next few years.
So, what's the point of this bill anyway?
