I' d say that either the camera was not working well or -more probably- the lense had some of the colour filters on. German periscopes of WW2 had three different colour lenses to help seeing better in different light conditions, I think those were green, orange and yellow. Makes a big difference when looking against a setting/rising sun or in low light conditions, and probably russians copied that or had it already also.:hmm:
