Best sort fo Luftwaffe blooper I've seen was while I was submerged right smack in the middle of Bristol Harbor.

Luftwaffe comes along with a bunch of Heinkels to do an air raid and manages to nearly kill me, with 5 or six very close bomb hits, steal my credit for an Auxiliary Cruiser and a Large Merchant that I had already torpedo'd but hadn't sunk yet

Now, in mitigation I shouldn't have been there, that's not what IXb u-boats are for but they could have tried to avoid my periscope, they managed not to hit any of the docked neutrals after all....
