What Mush says, this also goes for friendly ships but they'd have to be close by, this only regularly happens in the Med I've seen Italian Soldati DDs respond to my Contact reports
Theoretically you could be way up north stalking a Murmansk Convoy at a time when Tirpitz or one of the other big ones is also at sea, also theoretically you could home them in on the convoy by sending regular reports and then watch the show, this is however a very hypothetical situation in the campaign, if anyone has actually done this we'd love screenies
