Hello everyone,
I've been gone for some time. First on some frustrations with the sim and then no time to really sit down and play.
Well started a career a few weeks ago and had a successfull patrol. Sank a destroyer and merchant so far. Used the auto TDC just to get used to all the other controls etc. and will switch over to manual soon.
Loaded 1.4 the other day and am playing stock SH4 as noted by flyingdane. Well went to the conning tower and the main steering area. What do I find but all gauges - depth / speed / course etc. blacked out!!??!!. Since this career was started with 1.3 thought I'd start a new career. Went to the tower and yup all gauges blacked out again!!??!!
What gives? I thought these patches were to correct issues not add to them. It seems the endless "contact long range" while in port is gone - which was the only real pain I still had with 1.3 - but so now are my gauges in the tower.
In the control room and the secondary steering station all is ok.
Not to say that this glitch is going to effect my patrols, but if in the tower I should be able to see what I need to see.
On another note - and I have noticed this through all patches and stock versions - when at the navigation map and while plotting a course or using the other tools - why is the "compass" that "pops" up always reverse? In other words north is down and south is up. So when I go to plot a course west the compass is showing my plot line going east
. If I have a convoy and want to get an idea of where they are to my boat if I pull off my bow and my heading is west or say 270 the "pop up" will show a eastern "projection"!!!!!!
Am I doing something wrong or is this another glitch?
Well game is great so will keep on sailing - just need a little fix here and there.
