I read info on websites (don`t remember the adress right now) about it and you are right - but thise is not all

First as you sad the ability to look upwards
Second a larger Head (not by much as far as i understand) with a larger view.
Use of atack and Observation scopes
Atack scope - Day (submerget atack - observation)
Observation scope - (night observation - navigation porpuses)
The atack and observation scope has a eqiment for firing solution and AOB tracker.
