The type II is nice, but you sure as hell can`t go to America in her unless a type IX takes you along as a "Dingy." I`m cruising the waters off the North American East coast in mid 1942, I have had a lot of good encounters with both merchants, and warships. I`m in U-109 a type IXB boat out of Lorient, 2nd Flotilla. Over the long haul, finding a milch cow, and resupplying is great, I`ve seen my share of action in her.
We are on our way home at the present time, having sunk two vessels before leaving, and being caught on the surface by a destroyer, that put two rounds in us before we could crash dive. Repaired the damage, and was able to go deep, and evade her, running silent, and creeping along at 2kts. Love it. Puts
