[quote=Dowly]...Amen to that. The story in OFP was TONS better than what it is in ArmA. Especially loved the ending mission with everyone getting together to have an cold one and remember the past days.

I hear that. It had a professional touch. I especially loved the last mission to get Guba. So so so many different ways to finish it, but I prefered the Hind gunship method. Find the out of fuel hind, grab a fuel truck, get the hind gassed up, and you now have the most devastating thing you can steal from the enemy - that is if you can deal with the SHilkas. The Hinds missiles never tracked like the hellfires did, and you typically got one chance to kill a Shilka before death rained down on your parade.
I miss that mission. I remember getting shot down in the Hind near the nuke, surviving, and finishing it off with a LAW. Great feeling that is. I never got any feeling of accomplishment in ArmA. I think that is the problem.
Anyway, as said above, maybe I am being cruel. I guess its just the way I feel about it though.
Playing through the Russian camapign - also great!
And to top it off, they gave you even more in Resistance!
OFP is one of my top games of all time. ArmA just falls short is all and it is the comparrison that makes me realize how much more OFP was.

PS. The best way to describe it - I have lasting memories walking away from OFP. I however do not remember much about ArmA other than the decent gunship missions. Got shot down at the last moment on the Big Battle in the gunship, and hoofed it back to base for a completed mission! THat was memorable - especially since I ran across a few enemies on the way back and offed them!
PPS. Where is my Hind in ArmA??? The KA-50 werewolf is not as dreadful to see flying around.
