I agree that RSRD is my favorite (I saw it in the theater and as a 12 year old, I had nightmares about Tab Hunter being crushed by a torpedo), however Ned Beach hated what they did to his novel. All have something to offer. The scenes of fire and WSRT's on Crimson Tide and flooding on Gray Lady Down are very realistic. Operation Pacific is iconic of the entire US submarine war contribution.
