Though I suppose you would still have to dip into the in-game manual to send the mast-height to TDC, but then again if you are working on the printable version only you could simply turn the in-game manual into a scrolling list of just big names on the pages instead of pictures - which you select from after you've picked from the printed manual. That would leave you time to red light the pages maybe.

There is no need to use a recognition manual to put the mast height into the stadimeter. Just drag the mast height ring around to the mast height you want to use and do your split image. Then send to TDC. You don't ever need to identify the ship at all. |
As far as I know you will have to ID to insert the right mast hight.
This will increase the accurancy of the distance when using the stadimeter.
