Question--
Does blowing ballast create noise that lets the DD's zero in on your location?

I know that blowing ballast when you are shallow will force you to the surface, but what about when you are deep and desperate to reverse your descent from flooding? One or two blows usually doesn't force you to the surface (is this realistic?), but I was wondering how much noise it makes.
