I just shot two magnetic shots at a DD from around 1500m-2000m

First one got there and exploded under her hull. But there was no damage visable and got "Torpedo Missed" message.
Shot another and it blew up about halfway there.

But then strangely enough the ship went down from the first shot and I got credit for it. Just shows how devastating mag setting can be. Dispite all the malfunctions it's hard not to try it.
