Well, I made it to Brest just fine. I left Wilhelmshaven on Dec 5th 1940 and arrived in Brest on Jan 3th 1941. I still had enough gas to maybe get to Wilhelmshaven via the ENGLISH channel, but not to Kiel where they ordered me to end up.

With my 6 torpedos I had ***1 miss, 1 dud, and I sunk: two DD's, 1 T3 Tanker and a pesky damn Tramp steamer that just wouldn't go down..I hit it in the fuel tank & it was burning all over but just kept going 8 kts, (down from 9 kts) until I chased it down & blasted it with just about every shot I had for that worthless pice-of-crap pop gun on the IID. I blew everything up on deck & shot 500 times in one spot at the waterline & it finely blewup & sunk.

However, like LZS VON SWE said: "I think your to early for Brest" he was right!

I docked in Brest to get fuel and six more torps and some more spam..."I love spam" and they kicked us out of Brest on the 4th of Jan 1941..
Man what a bummer...29 stinking days on that stinking boat and they wouldn't even let us take a shower.

Now I am wondering.. If I go the long route back & sink any ships would they count count in my total as another patrol.
The patrol just says "NULL" so can I fight my way home or do I have to go by the shortest most direct route to complete my 14th patrol?
The commander is calling me "at sea in 15th patrol". so perhaps I have credit for the sinkings & time as patrol #14 & now it will just move on.
