Never got to play TF: 1942 either. Did play SSI's 'Great Naval Battles' series some, though. Those had lots of detail, but serious interface problems. MPS was always good about making an 'open' game, and wish I'd got to try their surface warfare on for size.

I love this series. I only played GNB 2, Solomons campaign
. I could never win as the Japanese, but I had some great wins as the US.
