The damaged carrier is a drag. I've had that kind of thing happen to me a couple times. I've never tried to gun it under because--well (here goes)-- historically , it would have me seriously outgunned and would chew me up. That's not to say you shouldn't though!!! Waiting for the cruisers to leave 1st would be prudent IMHO.

Ya, the cruisers just left and I'm firing at it, the machine guns are a bit of a nuisance, but if that's the price to sink a carrier...
