The following quote, from the article, completely discredits the author, regardless of how pretty-sounding his words might sound.

"Across the English-speaking world, we are living in morally absurd times. The creators of this absurdity are three men - George Bush, Tony Blair and Australia’s John Howard who sent a small team of Aussie diggers to Iraq. These men are now drenched in human blood. Their invasion of Iraq and their occupation there has turned that land between the two rivers of Mesopotamia into a charnel house."

Way to self-sabotage an otherwise seemingly impressive document.
These men sabotaged their reputation themselves when launching these idiotic two wars, lied and betrayed the public, and cause nothing good, but only a mess, also their competence to wage both wars is not really obvious to the wide public by now. And by pointing finger at the author and trying to clean his very insightful remarks off the table (he is publishing his newsletter with financial and market analysis to paying customers since 25 years), by attacking him over his rejection of the war's reasonability, you sabotage that whole comment of yours, to use your words. Deal with his arguments on the issue, or don't. This is no thread on Iraq, ME, Afghanistan. So don't try cheap shots at him in order to discredit him. That is called cheating. Deal with his staements by argument.

@Tchocky, Leturm,

what I first had set up here, now goes in PMs to you.
