Deep water would be nice but if there's no way you can get there, try this (it's worked for me a couple times). Wait til they make a run and aren't pinging you. go to all stop and gently lay it on the bottom. You may have to survive another run but I've had them lose me and they stopped their engines and lay to listening. So--if they do that--stay where you are or they'll pick you up again.
None-the-less, You need a more than a rabbit's foot of luck...:hmm:
