The game had a plethora of campaigns you could do, from either side. The Battle of Vicksburg was a lot of fun, because you had seige artillery

and the mortar gunboats. You could upgrade units

and the battles never played the same. If you won one battle, you would go into the next battle in a better position (supply point, unit locations). I mangaged to play the whole Civil War, as the South. Which I totally dominated the computer, until I chose the Western Theater path

, where I play the battles in Georgia. I got steam rolled in that, and lost the war. The game kept great stats, battle losses, etc. Great all around design...
BUT this game would crash on a dime.

I think 3/4 of the time I played it had a fatal crash. They patched it, but it still had issues.
