My 2 cents:
Probably THE WORST WWII sub movie there is out there (Yes, worse than U-571!). The acting is cheap, William H.Macy sounded like a suck-up, comradeship and respect were waaayyy down-played. I think it was actually shot parallel to U-571, as the U-boat XO was also played by Thomas Kretschmann (german captain of U-571), ther ealso seems to be "borrowed" and extra CGI from U-571 as well. IMHO
