Still wondering if somehow there is a problem though as I thought that the new ROW mod and TM mod allowed oil slicks to form on the water much like sh3. I have not seen this and have set up several examples using the mission creator to try and get this to work.

They should. Mine does. There is a known issue (that i need to list on the mods page) in relation to the particles.dat. It is dependant on some ROW textures. See this post by Leovampire:

As an aside, for anyone reading this, this is what id recommend with TM in conjunction with row:

ROW Objects Reflections vs1
ROW Ship Reflections vs1
ROW SUB Reflections vs_2
ROW Textures VS_2
ROW Classic Sea Foam
REL_Trigger_Maru_GFX_PAK_2_2
REL_Trigger_Maru_1-6-4

Also there was a mod that allowed walking around the deck of your sub and also (from what i read) other ships. This mod does not seem to be working as when I try and go to "shift f2" i end up back in the submarine command room and that the only area i can walk around. I'm not sure if this mod was included in the TM mod (latest version) or if its a whole now mod.

This is the ROW camera mod, and is currently not included in TM. I have been quietly working on TM 1.6.5, and in this version ive included it, and made a tweak or two to it. But currently its not in the posted version. It is safe to load ROWs camera mod on top of TM. It is an awesome mod, and i reallly love it as well.

When using the "identify ship" key as in sh3 is there something special thats needs to be done. I have enabled the button via the instrucions by removing the ; before the command line and specifiying a button to press. When I press the button it says that the ship is being identified but does not display any information and does not turn to the page in the identification book like sh3.

ID target is not hotkeyed in TM, but should work in the mod as is when you press the button on the command bar. You do not need to do anything to enable it. I think its in the periscope menu. It will not open the ID book, but it should ID the target for you.

The nomograph on the map screen, can someone please explain to me how to use this. I have never seen it used but it looks usefull for calculations of speed and distances.

Look in TM 1.6.4's support directory. You'll find all sorts of nifty information there. Among it, how to use the nomograph.

how do you target ships after they have started the zig zag pattern.

Normal zig zags , or after they have detected you? If youve been detected and they start helming over like crazy, forget it. Normal zig zags as the convoys in route to its destination, you just have to be very observant about when they zig zag, anticipate it, and place yourself on their track before you expect them to zig zag again.
