Best way i have found to avoid all that stuff ( when I don't want to listen or watch ) is when you first open game just order ahead flank speed ...go to nav screen and plot the course out of harbor where you know there aren't mines and nets .... remove the watch officer and time compress to about 64 .... go get a cup of coffee and by the time you get back you'll be clear ....
