Loyalty is not to be taken for granted. It needs to be earned and deserved. An idiotic and most stupid government like the Bush gang, that has failed on all challenges it ever faced during it's legislation, makes disobedience almost a citizen's legal duty, and an act of protecting the state against hostile takeover.

As i repeatedly said in the past, most citizens and many cities and communities are many years ahead of the WH when it comes to environmental awareness, and energy questions, and modernizations (even our oh so liberal lefty sick european media is registrating and observing that) - while the central government currently still is thinking in concepts of decades ago. One should be thankful for that initiative on display. No reason in trying to behave like dinosaurs - if that goes for too long, it only destroys America a bit more with each day passing. as if the damage Bush has done to the US isn't already great enough.

I would be careful when calling for the strong Fuehrer vetoing everything that he does not like, Subman. Others have had more experiences with that than you Americans, and it didn't serve them too well.

I agree on the campaing finance limits, though. the ammount of money beign spend for that is in the realm of absurdity. It makes mockery of the election process in every meant-to-be-democratic system. It also allows far too much influencing by lobbies not only during legislation, but even already in the process of selecting candidates and presidents. It does not helpt democracy, but aims at preventing it. Because democracy cannot function if it is run without reason of the participants and citizens, but reason getting replaced with dollar-heavy propaganda - which campaigning actually is all about.

Hell, I would even forbid campaigning all together, and would ban lifetime professional politicians as well. 8-12 years in politics, then everybody has to completely abandon the playfield, forever, and is not allowed into political service again, no matter the function and office. Else politicians make policies on behalf of their own political careers. Which may be exclusive to the demand that they should serve the interests of the people and the community.
