There is quite a bit of truth to that. The Bush family can trace their ancestry back to royalty in England, apparently a high up like a Duke or a brother of the King of England in the royal family back in the 1600s. Anyways they are cousins of Winston Churchill, and Princess Diana which makes Prince William and Harry GW's 17th cousin. John Kerry is also a distant cousin of Bush......go figure. Other families who have generations of folks in power here would be the Kennedy's, Roosevelts, Tafts.
Of course anyone can trace their lineage back to someone powerful or famous if they try. Heck, William Henry Harrison, 9th and shortest termed president is in my family tree and believe me, I have no political clout or power.
