Kerosene - is the cheapest way to make a blowup. Our guys usually use it at TV-serial production which are beeing produced in zounds in our country. And viewers of such production (who are old grandmothers and housewives mostly) see no strange in funny cases when mortar shell explodes like a can with gasoline :rotfl:
As for Zvezda - it was shot with a budget much less than that of a "9-я рота" ( "9-th company" ). And as for me - main value of this film are not the battle scenes but characters.
